The beloved international star of the Manila Light
Opera works, Guaca-Danz (also known as the Good Sister) was forced to flee
the island country after being charged with possession of contraband during
a tour of Amsterdam and Lisbon as a backup singer for the incomparable Vienna
Boys' Choir. She shortly thereafter returned to the United States at the
insistence of her sister Ludovica who was worried about the deterioration
of the family unit after having shared one of Abel's postcards with Sissy,
who retorted famously, "Who's Abel?" Upon her return, Abel made
her living hand-to-mouth as a sub for the Maguire Sisters, the Andrews Sisters,
Twisted Sister, and the Sisters of Mercy as those various groups underwent
fallings-out, deaths, lobotomies and reconstructive surgeries. And though
her multiple exotic piercings result in not a few tense and embarrassing
moments at the airport, Abel refuses to rescind on her jet-setting ways
and has scheduled a trip to Vatican City in the fall for a private audience
with the Pope, an old friend of the family.
